EPAL was incorporated on 6th June 2001 and commenced trading on 20th February 2002. The principal activity of the company is to provide pensions administration services in relation to the Electricity Supply Pension Scheme (ESPS) and other pension schemes of the Employers participating in the ESPS.

The ordinary shares of EPAL are owned by Electricity Pensions Services Limited (EPSL). EPSL is in turn owned by Electricity Pensions Limited (EPL), the members of which are all major employers in the ESPS. Therefore, EPAL is a wholly owned subsidiary of EPL.
